David Manlove Memorial
Every spring, Oaklandon Youth Organization hosts the David Manlove Memorial Tournament, a single-day memorial baseball tournament to raise awareness about substance abuse. We welcome 4-6 rec travel baseball teams in every age group from 7U-12U to participate in this single-day tournament.
This tournament was started in 2002 in memory of David Manlove, who played baseball at our facility from 1990-97 but died in June 2001 from cardiac arrest caused by huffing. All proceeds from this tournament – including donated concession stand worker wages and umpire fees – are presented to The 24 Group. To learn more about this organization, visit www.the24group.com.
