Travel
At OYO, in addition to our 11 recreational baseball and softball leagues and our prized Challengers league, we’re committed to providing additional baseball and softball experiences for all our young ballplayers who are seeking additional on-field experience.
These programs are optional to all players and are self-sufficient. And while OYO provides the infrastructure (field space, organization affiliation, etc.) to allow these teams to be formed and represent OYO around the city, each team is self-funded through team registration fees, sponsorships, and fundraising activities.
OYO offers two types of travel programs for baseball and softball. Our teams, sport the nicknames Bombers (baseball) and Red Storm (softball). For both baseball and softball, we offer rec travel teams and full-time travel teams.
For decades, we’ve formed rec travel teams, which are essentially all-star teams that practice or participate in games on Sundays when the rec season is in session, and a handful of local tournaments during the summer after the rec season is complete.
Our full-time travel program was launched in 2005, and we have seen this program grown steadily to teams in eight different age groups in 2011.
